POMONA — Three men and a woman were in custody Monday for allegedly carjacking a pickup truck at gunpoint in Pomona.

Officers were dispatched about 1:55 p.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of North Mills Avenue on a man with a gun call and were told by the victim that he interrupted three male suspects trying to break into his vehicle, according to Pomona police Sgt. Alyssa Bostrom.

The man said he confronted the trio, at which time one of the suspects pointed a shotgun at him, Bostrom said.

“The suspects proceeded to enter the victim’s vehicle and they left the area followed by a black Acura,” according to Bostrom, who said the victim was not injured and the vehicles were last seen headed south on Mills.

Soon after, a patrol officer located both the victim’s truck, a Dodge Dakota, and the Acura parked on East Kingsley Avenue, near Mills Avenue, and detained four suspects, Bostrom said.

“The victim positively identified the suspects as those who stole his car,” Bostrom said, adding that a short-barreled shotgun was found inside the Acura.

The suspects — identified as Montclair residents Jose Aguilar, 35; Rodolfo Becerra, 37; and Frank Sotoguzman, 24; and Savannah Martinez, 22, of Pomona — were arrested on suspicion of carjacking and other offenses, Bostrom said.

Becerra and Aguilar were each being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, while Sotoguzman was being held in lieu of $175,000 and Martinez in lieu of $65,000 bail, according to sheriff’s online inmate records.
