Riverside County sheriff’s detectives are investigating an assault with a deadly weapon that happened at midday Friday, May 4, in Perris.

Few details were immediately available; a sheriff’s spokesman said the department would send out a news release with more information.

Deputies were called to the 1400 block of Sweet Bay Drive just after noon to investigate a report of an altercation.

“As a result of the altercation, an assault with a deadly weapon ensued,” an email from the spokesman said.

There was no word on the type of weapon or the status of the victim and suspect.
