The collision happened at 7:35 a.m., where the tracks cross Cridge Street, BNSF spokeswoman Lena Kent said Saturday.
The Riverside Police Department responded to the incident, she said, the vehicle was towed and the track was inspected.
No one appears to have been injured.
“It was a freight train that struck the vehicle and certainly, any time a train strikes a vehicle, there is some danger,” Kent said. “But not this time.”
The track was cleared and all trains were running again by 9:55 a.m., she said. Nine trains were delayed as a result of the temporary shutdown.
