Taco Bell’s wildly popular Nacho Fries will be exiting the menu in mid-September, according to a news release from the Irvine-based fast food chain.

But they will be going out in a blaze of glory, at least for diners in Columbus, Ohio. That’s where Taco Bell will be testing a dish made what the Guinness Book of World Records called the world’s hottest pepper.

Reaper Fries will be served with Carolina Reaper and ranch sauce.

Taco Bell is also testing Rattlesnake Fries and a Rattlesnake Burrito, both of which include jalapeño sauce and  pickled jalapeños, on Ohioans.

Taco Bell’s test items don’t always make it onto the chain’s national menu, but the experiments with Nacho Fries suggest they might get a three-peat. They went on the menu the first time in late January and quickly became the chain’s best-selling launch. The fries were pulled from the menu after a few weeks but brought back a second time in July.

Another Taco Bell treat will soon come off the menu. Watermelon Freeze, a slush with pieces of candy shaped like watermelon seeds, will be replaced by Caramel Apple Freeze, which spokesman call its fall season counterpart.
