The strength of the Inland Empire in cross country was evident in the postseason, as the top two teams on each side made up four of California’s five berths into the Nike Cross Nationals.
In fact, for the boys, Great Oak and Roosevelt were not only 1-2 in the I.E., but 1-2 in the section, and ultimately 1-2 in the state. For the girls, both Great Oak and Claremont — both Wolfpack — were top 10 in the nation. The No. 3 team, Vista Murrieta, placed third in the state in Division I and was considered for an NXN berth,
