A 31-year-old Hemet man was arrested Wednesday, May 10, on suspicion that he pimped, threatened and acted violently toward at least one young woman, sheriff’s officials said.
Lawrence Lamont Randall was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, pimping, pandering and violating his parole. He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in French Valley with no bail set, according to online jail records.
On Monday, April 24, investigators began looking into allegations that Randall had forced a 19-year-old woman to prostitute herself in such areas as Hemet, San Bernardino, Pomona and Palm Springs, according to a Riverside County sheriff’s news release.
The prostitution activities, which happened from March through Mid-April, were all advertised online or in well-known prostitution corridors, officials say.
On Wednesday, the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task force found Randall driving in the area of Santa Fe Street and Oakland Avenue in Hemet and arrested him.
Afterward, they served a search warrant at a home in the 600 block of East Devonshire Avenue and seized evidence.
Officials say that “in addition to the cooperative victim,” they have identified at least one other possible victim and contacted her. They say it is possible Randall has additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Those officials are asking anyone with information to contact Deputy Christina Pierson by calling 951-955-1700 or emailing cpierson@riversidesheriff.org.
