A person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the westbound 210 Freeway near Day Creek Boulevard.

The westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near Day Creek Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga were blocked Monday following a fatal multi-vehicle crash, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

“We have about four or five cars involved and someone has died,” Officer Devon Boatman said.

The crash was reported just before 11 a.m., according to a CHP incident log. A SigAlert was issued about 11:15.

The crash has caused a backup on the transition roads from the 15 Freeway, Boatman said, and CHP and Caltrans are working to divert traffic from the area.

There was no estimate for how long the SigAlert would be in effect.

There were reports that some drivers were turning the wrong way on the Day Creek onramp and almost causing collisions, according to the CHP log.
