Cal League roundup: Monday, July 17

The Lake Elsinore Storm (46-49) defeated the San Jose Giants 4-2, after scoring three runs in the fourth inning in a California League game at The Diamond on Monday evening.

With no outs in the bottom of the fourth Kyle Overstreet singled on a line drive to right field to score Austin Allen and Edwin Moreno, Ruddy Giron was called out on strikes and Carlos Belen hit a sacrifice fly to score Overstreet.

Jacob Nix pitched a solid seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits to get the win. Trevor Frank struck out two in the ninth to get the save.

Rancho Cucamonga 4, Stockton 3>>

The Quakes scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for the walk-off against the Ports at LoanMart Field.

Keibert Ruiz hit a three-run walk-off home giving the Quakes (51-44) the win.

Andrew Istler picked up the win after striking out the side in the ninth inning.

Modesto 3, Inland Empire 2>>

The 66ers fell to the Nuts at John Thurman Field after they gave up all three runs in the third inning.

Connor Justus finished with two hits and two RBI to lead the 66ers (45-50) and Kyle Survance Jr. went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.
